As part of MORE's continuing focus on Michigan writers of note, this class on Jim Harrison highlights his career as a poet, novelist, essayist and screenwriter. Included will be video scenes from movies made based on his writings, such as "Legends of the Fall." Mr. Harrison evokes images of Ernest Hemmingway, with both writers having styles born of life in northern Michigan, and in fact many of Harrison's works are set in rural areas such as Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Whether you are interested in storytelling, writing or local history, MORE attendees are sure to find this class to be compelling.

About the Presenter: Meghan Mott is the outreach manager for Adult Services at the Clinton Macomb Public Library and was a member of the founding team for MORE's predecessor SOAR Macomb program at the college. She remains a valued regular contributor to the MORE program.
