Instructor: Dr. Michael L Schwartz, DBA, P.E., PMP

It is likely we have all been told "don't get emotional" at one time or another. As a result of this, many people have come to believe that emotions are harmful or detrimental; those emotions need to be and stay repressed, particularly in our professional lives. Nothing could be further from the truth. Emotions play a vital role in both our professional and personal lives. In this workshop, Dr. Schwartz will show why emotions are important, how to recognize and control your emotions, and how to benefit from them.

About the Presenter: Dr. Michael L. Schwartz, DBA, P.E., PMP, is a former engineer who has transitioned to being a trainer and instructor in people skills. These include topics such as leadership, team building, conflict management and emotional intelligence. Originally from New York City, Michael moved to the Detroit area by way of Indiana. He has primarily worked in ground vehicles and equipment for civilian and defense applications. Having held various positions within the corporate hierarchy, Michael concluded "issues in programs and projects are not from a lack of technical talent, they are from people’s inability to work and play well together." His training focuses on people skills to help professionals deal with these issues. Michael is also an author of both fiction and nonfiction works.
