A Tribute to Edsel and Eleanor Clay Ford

This class is an orientation for the following day’s tour of the Edsel and Eleanor Ford House.

This presentation will greatly enrich the tour experience by highlighting their lives and accomplishments, as well as the challenges they faced. Mr. and Mrs. Ford built the home at Gaukler Pointe in Grosse Pointe Shores in the late 1920s and this remained their primary residence until Eleanor’s death on October 19, 1976. At that time, she left 15 million dollars to maintain the home for tours and community activities. This is a great opportunity to learn about the Fords and their beautiful home prior to our tour on Tuesday, July 25.
